We shall have to return to this subject one day when we talk about Kyoto, because Kyoto does not only affect Europe but addresses a global problem.

I imagine Mr Friedrich will mention this too, but we are pleased to note that the candidate is to be appointed for an eight-year term.

But it can at the same time validate the result achieved and keep some points of its proposal in reserve, which can then be brought up for discussion again at the appropriate time.

I hope that the EU will be discussing this in its relations with India and will help stamp out this gross social injustice.
