Disorders in prolactin release, i.e. enhanced prolactin levels, lead to disorders in the sexual functions of both men and women. Un-called for production of milk (galactorrhea) and suppression of ovulation, or the amenorrhea resulting therefrom, and the inability to conceive are caused by enhanced prolactin levels.
